2. What is an Enrolled Agent?
An Enrolled Agent (EA), is a federally-authorized tax advisor who has expertise in the field of taxation and is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels—examination, collection, and appeals—of the Internal Revenue Service. In addition to taxpayer representation, enrolled agents often provide tax consultation services and prepare a wide range of federal and state tax returns. To become an Enrolled Agent, one has to go through extensive testing in all areas of the tax law.
3. How do you meet with clients?
While we prefer to meet virtually, we do have three office locations for face-to-face meetings; one in Menomonee Falls, WI, one in Morgan Hill, CA, and the one in Grayslake, IL. Our business is set up to be able to take full advantage of technology. This means we can meet virtually and work through the on boarding process and annual review process just as efficiently as meeting face-to-face.
4. How do you get paid?
The way we get paid depends on the services we decide to work on together. We charge a flat fee for our financial planning services and a flat percentage of assets that we manage. These are two different fees or all inclusive depending on which service tier you select. For example, if you invest $50,000, your fee is $500 billed annual directly from that investment account. Your financial planning fee depends on the complexity of your service, but starts as low as $250/mo for ongoing planning.
We do have the flexibility to find the best insurance products or 529 plans for our clients, which are compensated through a commission. This means we receive compensation based on the investment or product sold.
5. How can I get started?
Simply schedule time with our team! I offer a risk-free, 30-minute discovery call for all prospects. We’ll get to know each other, chat about your needs and discuss how we can possibly work together.
6. Who do you work with?
We work with small business owners, tech professionals, female leaders and multi-generational families. We work best with people who are committed to having a financial teammate alongside them for the long-term and are willing to have their assets managed. As part of our process we offer full disclosure of the entire financial picture. This openness and honesty is essential so we can work together in the most efficient way and get you on track to live your most meaningful life.
7. What if I'm not 50+?
That's fine! While we specialize in helping those 50+ plan for retirement, we also focus on tech professionals that are young and need help with planning and investment management, especially with their Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
